2022 was a year of storytelling, and there are so many outstanding Sync stories to tell. From inspired content creators like Juan Salazar making magical musical moments to large-scale government enterprises like PortsToronto keeping cities moving to sustainable technology companies like Re-Nuble saving the planet, people are changing the world with Sync and making it known.

Product

2022 was about app performance, stability, and reliability, all to make your life with Sync the best it can be.

Mobile apps – We pushed 10 significant mobile app updates, adding and improving on features, all based on feedback from you. Thank you! Highlights to include:

• Camera upload is much more reliable
• Dark mode support
• iOS Files app integration got better
• PDF thumbnails
• Hundreds of under-the-hood fixes

Desktop app – The Sync desktop app went from version 2.0.19 to version 2.1.4 over the year with new features including automatic updates, faster updates on point releases, macOS Ventura support, and speed, stability, and reliability improvements. For all existing Sync customers, we recommend upgrading right now.

Video streaming – Play without delay on the Sync iOS and Android apps with instant streaming support for the most popular video formats. Watch what you want when you want with Sync. Read more.

CloudFiles Beta – Work continued throughout the year on Sync CloudFiles files-on-demand, with multiple updates to help get us closer to removing the beta label. The great news is that CloudFiles is stable and available to all Sync Pro customers right now! Save space on your desktop by moving your Sync folder to the cloud. Get it now.

Infrastructure – Did you know your data in Sync is stored and replicated across multiple data centre locations with automated failover? Did you know we utilize enterprise grade storage arrays, including Seagate’s Exos JBOD SAS storage systems, measured at the Petabyte level? We really mean it when we say your data is safe with Sync!

We continued to scale our data centers in 2022, with significant investments in storage capacity to meet demand, and to keep way ahead of the supply chain. Beyond hardware, our DevOps and Engineering teams upgraded our monitoring and alert dashboards, implemented real time system status updates, and continued upgrades to our software stack. All to help deliver world-class performance, reliability, and uptime.

SOC-3 – For those in regulated industries, using the cloud requires third-party validation, trust, and compliance. That’s why we’re happy to announce that Sync successfully completed a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 3 audit in 2022.

Customer Service 

We have a super-hero, in-house CS Team ready to help answer pretty much any question you can dream up. In fact, over 72 thousand questions were answered in 2022 by real people ready to help you. Beyond answers, we embarked on an outreach campaign to help larger organizations get onboarded quickly and get the most out of Sync. Stellar customer service is what makes Sync so great!
